About Handyman Tiny
Handyman Tiny is a one-truck handyman business based in Tiny Township, Ontario. We open and close cottages, keep an eye on empty ones through the winter, and do the small repairs and builds that a beach house and a year-round home both need. We work the beaches from Balm Beach to Thunder Beach and the hamlets from Wyevale to Lafontaine, with Midland and Penetanguishene on the same rotation.
Why Eight Services and Not Eighteen
We looked at who serves Tiny before we wrote this site. The handyman companies with websites, rate cards, and reviews are based in Barrie and Wasaga Beach, 45 to 90 kilometres away, and the two that mention cottage openings and property checks do not name Tiny in their service areas. Nobody based in the township lists openings, closings, property checks, dock repair, grab bars, or bunkies at all. Painting, on the other hand, is on ten of the eleven competitor lists and four dedicated painters already work the area. So we dropped painting and landscaping and built the list around the two groups of people who live here: owners who are two hours away for most of the year, and residents whose median age is 55.
What We Will Not Do
Electrical work for hire in Ontario belongs to Licensed Electrical Contractors with an ECRA/ESA number, and Plumber is a compulsory trade. We swap fixtures and hang what plugs in. We do not run wire, change piping, or touch gas. We do not build on the beach side of the 178-metre line, and we do not put a shed over a septic bed. When a job needs a permit, a plumber, an electrician, or a Township letter, we tell you before we price it and we give you the name. A handyman who says yes to everything is the one who ends up on the news.
How a Job Runs
You call or text photos. We price small jobs from the photos and larger ones after a visit, in writing, with what the number covers. We book a date and keep it. On the job we protect the floors, do the work, clean up, and send you photos before you see the invoice. If we find something else once we are in, we stop and call. There is no deposit on jobs under $1,000 and no trip fee anywhere in Tiny, Midland, or Penetanguishene. Our coverage, beach by beach, is on the service areas page.
What You Can Hold Us To
A written price before we start. A date we keep, and a call if weather moves it. Photos of the finished work. Licensed trades for the work that needs them, and a plain no for the work that should not be done. A callback within the day, which, if the HomeStars survey is right about 45 percent of Canadians struggling to find a reliable local pro, is most of the job.
