We open and close cottages, check on empty properties through the winter, and handle the small repairs that keep a beach house working: deck boards, screen doors, eavestroughs, drywall, faucets, grab bars, and sheds built to the Township permit rules. We work the beaches from Balm Beach to Thunder Beach and the hamlets from Wyevale to Lafontaine. We want to help you keep your property safe and ready to enjoy.

Two Things To Keep In Mind Before We Quote

The first is who is allowed to do the work. In Ontario, electrical work for hire belongs to a Licensed Electrical Contractor with an ECRA/ESA number, and Plumber is a compulsory trade. We do not run wire, we do not change supply or drain piping, and we do not touch gas appliances. We swap the faucet, hang the fixture that can plug in, and will give you the name of the licensed trade for the rest.

The second is whether the Township needs to know and if things require a permit. Tiny publishes its permit thresholds to the square foot: a shed over 15 square metres, any other detached structure over 10, a deck more than 0.6 metres off the ground or attached to the house, and any structural or plumbing renovation all need a building permit.

Every Beach, Every Concession

We work the whole township: more than 70 kilometres of Georgian Bay shoreline on the west side, the farm concessions and hamlets inland, and Midland and Penetanguishene to the east. See the service areas page for the full map.

How a Job Begins

Call or text us photos and we'd be happy to help understand how we can help. We do our best to price  small repairs ahead of time but sometimes this does require a quick visit and review of the work. We do not charge travel or mileage to anywhere in Tiny, Midland, or Penetanguishene.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Does my deck or shed need a permit?

Tiny Township publishes the thresholds for what is required. A shed up to 15 square metres (161 square feet), one storey, with no plumbing, needs no permit. Any other detached structure over 10 square metres (108 square feet) does, and so does a deck more than 0.6 metres above grade or attached to the house.

  • Do you do electrical and plumbing work?

We replace faucets, toilets, shower heads, and plug-in fixtures, and we install grab bars. We do not run wiring, add circuits, change supply or drain piping, or connect gas appliances. Ontario reserves electrical work for hire to Licensed Electrical Contractors and lists Plumber as a compulsory trade, so we refer that work to licensed trades we know and can coordinate the dates and work together.

  • Can you open the cottage before we drive up?

Yes. That is the most common booking we take. Give us the date you plan to arrive and we open the place a few days ahead.

  • How far out are you booking?

Smaller and some larger repairs, can be scheduled within the week in most cases. Keep in mind with long weekends we do book up in advaneg. With our scheduled property checks, we run on a fixed calendar from November to April and do not depend on availability.
